Program Description
Automotive Service Technicians use specialized tools and equipment to diagnosis and repair automobiles and light trucks. Work is performed inside the vehicle, under the hood, and under the vehicle. While physical dexterity is required, there are some procedures that can be performed at a work bench. This program will prepare students for entry-level positions and will help prepare them to perform successfully on the certification and license exams required in this career path.
Baker College prepares you for a career in vehicle service technology through an intensive training program that includes classroom instruction and hands-on training in using the newest diagnostic and repair technologies.
To ensure that our program meets today’s demands, we have an Advisory Board made up of the dealerships and garages that employ service technicians. We use their input and knowledge to design courses that teach you everything you need to know about modern auto technology. What you learn in the classroom is enriched with hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs, using diagnostic and repair tools and techniques—the same tools and techniques that the most sophisticated vehicle service facilities in the nation are using right now.
