New Associate Degree (AAS) In Energy Technology! (Now Available In Michigan AND Texas!)
MIAT is proud to announce a new AAS in Energy Technology Program at its Canton, MI campus. The Energy Technology Program is a combination of classroom, hands-on assignments and outside work/homework. Power generation, power plant operations, wind power, compression technology and process systems are covered. This exciting, innovative program can be completed in as little as 16 months. Aviation Programs (Michigan Only)
Once you have chosen to pursue Airframe and Power plant Technician Certification, consider adding a few short months of education to achieve an Associate’s Degree, now available from MIAT. The added curriculum will round out your Airframe and Power plant Technician training with essential academic skills to move into more complex technical positions and managerial roles. Employers who answered surveys from the MIAT Career Services Department stated they are looking for applicants who possess critical communication, problem solving, and analytical skills that can be acquired by completion of a college degree.

The Energy Technician program at MIAT was created in response to the energy industry’s need for more qualified technicians. Training provides the building blocks required for entry-level energy industry careers. This program focuses on career training in wind turbine construction and maintenance, power plant operations and traditional methods of generating electricity. This program is offered at both campuses.

HVACR Program
HVACR (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration) technicians install, maintain and repair systems that control the temperature and air quality in many types of structures and equipment. The MIAT HVACR Technician program was created to respond to the industry need for formally trained professionals to work on these vital systems. MIAT’s curriculum and hands-on training provides basic technical knowledge, professionalism, and employer-requested certificates needed to enter a career in the HVACR industry. Graduates find career opportunities in a broad range of sectors, including Commercial, Industrial, Laboratory, Transport, Refrigeration, Portable & Emergency, Residential, and more.
