Macomb’s Automotive Technology Program
Macomb’s Automotive Technology Program is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence and will teach you how to diagnose, repair and maintain the parts and systems of the modern automobile. Your training will include working on vehicles in modern service bays on South Campus, using the most up-to-date diagnostic and repair tools and equipment available.
If you want to specialize, certificate options include: Brakes & Suspension, Driveability & Diagnosis, Driveline, Electrical & Air Conditioning, Engines and a Skills Specific Certificate in Alternative Fuel.

Career Opportunities with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technology and/or a Certificate or Skill Specific Certificate
With an Associate of Applied Science in Automotive Technology from Macomb, you will be qualified for positions that include automotive service technician, mechanic and automotive engineering technician.
With a certificate in one of the five specialty areas or with a Skill-Specific Certificate in Alternative Fuels, you will be qualified for positions that include automotive service technician and mechanic.
Transfer Pathways to Bachelor’s Degree Programs in Automotive Technology
Credits earned in Macomb’s Automotive Technology Program transfer to many colleges and universities in Michigan and may be applied to a bachelor’s degree program.
